CAM issues with power planes

Negative printing and displaying is only for "Supply" layers.

Such layers have the $ character in the beginning of the layer name.

In case you defined polygons in inner layers (no "supply")

they are printed the same as Top or Bottom, for example.

thanks for your reply. I'm still a little confused (if I'm honest).

My layer is called $GND. I process it at a Gerber_RS247X file (even on it's

own) and the file exports as a namefile.gnd.

That part is fine.

When I load it into viewmate (I select a layer and hit F4 to load the file)

and the file loads with the "copper" only where the holes are.

In other words, it looks exactly the same as the view in Eagle. The View in

Eagle is inverted as far as I know. The view in viewmate should not be...

right?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here...

I think what you're missing is that if you're using supply layers you

should tell the board house that they are supply layers and therefore

the Gerbers are negatives. The board house should then cope with that.

Hello Dafydd,

In ViewMate, right click on the layer and choose 'negative' from the dialog

to view correctly.
