how do I make ... :)  a via with 2 PAD on Top and on Bottom

humm... that's a tecnical problem.

I have made a board with 2 side. Top and Bottom.

Very well.

Some signals needs to have a PAD on top and bottom.

Very well.

But I can sold only on bottom!!!

image that's probably a basic question.

When we sold a pin, very well, the soldery goes though the hole and solds

top and bottom pad and the pin ???

Is it the way it works ?

Best Pierre.

When a board house make the boards they metallise the inner surface of

the holes.  This make it easy for solder to flow, and also a makes a

very strong mechanical joint to the board material.

When you drill a hole in the board you just take material away. So there

is no metallic connection between the top and bottom layer.

A pcb manufacturer inserts a tiny metal pipe into this hole, a rivet, as

    Morgan described before.

So you have to arrange your layout in such a way that connections to

those parts are allways on the bottom side.

A way to your own via is to stick a piece of wire throuh the hole and

    solder it to both sides.

Another way is for DIL-ICs, not to push it in all the way but only that

far that the pins show about 1mm at the bottom and then solder both

sides. Of course this trick does not work on everything.
