Copying symbols

Dear Eagle user group

I tried to find some information on this but couldn't, so please excuse me

if this has been answered before.

I'd like to copy / paste a symbol (under a new name) in my own 'special

devices' library in order to modify it. However, I can't find any way of

making such a copy - is this possible?

Thanks!

Whatever you do, do it in your own libraries!

Open a library or create new and KEEP OPEN.

In control panel / libraries pick a device with the wanted symbol.

Right klick it, choose 'copy to library' in the opening dialog.

Save the new lib and close it. That's all.

If you really want the symbol only, the fastest way to get rid of the

other 'garbage' is to export the new library as a .scr, open it with a

text editor, scratch the unwanted things and import the new file.scr

    into a new lbr.
