Split schematics in logical blocks and rout e separately?

I don't think that this is the exact solution you're looking for, but the way I do it is to make a separate schematic page for each logical block, then use a couple ULPs that I created to organize parts in the board layout editor.

It's not possible in the current version, but maybe on the next  version (V7).  On this post http://www.element14.com/community/message/105348/l/first-public-information-about-eagle-v7#105348 James Morrison mention a 'hierarchical design' feature...

I have tried to implement "hierarchical.zip" by reading txt file with

description and come to specific problem I cannot resolve and would like to

ask for help.

When I come to step to run script by "script ports_lbr.scr" within mylib I

have an error:

C:/Program Files(x86)..../scr/ports_lbr.scr, Line 187:

Invalid pad drill: '0'

(valid range is 0.000003125..200mm)

I can do some changes to "ports_lbr.scr" file, but not sure if it solution

or avoiding future prbolem...?!?

I've entered parameter:

Change Drill 0.000003125

and it goes smoothly.

I hope it will not make some problems in future.

You've right, the drill value must be non-zero.

I don't remember why I've made it zero, (may be older versions permit it).

I'll update files as soon as possible.

Finally, I have tried it and find it very interesting - I think it is what I was looking for, but I have some questions there.

I have made a block using instructions from "hierarchical.txt" file. When I have started "script make_device" for the first time I had multiple errors about having non-existing paths. In that file (hierarhical.txt) there is no note (should be!) that script paths should be configured per user's PC (in create_device.upl, create_package.upl files) - when I have solved that part, I have gone further and had some pop-up questions/answers YES, YES, OK ....  and at the end block was created. Do some elementary routing there, and I have saved it and now ready to import the block to other project.

For the test, new project is created, I have made schematics with few elements and after that I have "add"-ed from my library new element which is actually the block I have created. In sch file it looks fine and I have clicked on creating brd file. Done ! I have all elements ready for routing, BUT regular elements are of normal size, and block elements are about 10x or more bigger then regular elements.

I can't figure this out and find why is 10x or more bigger then regular elements!? Help needed !

Let's say, I have shape of the block that I need to change (fine tuning job) - to make pcb smaller within new project - to move around elements of the block and reroute it again within block , all within new project ?

Hi there!

I have this issue with Hierarchical v1.0 that when I make a block and

insert it in another schematics and finally make brd file - block elements

are huge, 10 times bigger.

Anybody to give a clue what am I missing here ?
