output to HP 7475A plotter

I am interested in outputting layouts directly to copper using an HP 7475A

poltter.

I have done this successfully with a really old DOS version of AutoCad (v.9)

and was thrilled with results.

I have located a driver which supposedly works in XP but the 7475A does not

accept output from Eagle.

I have tested the communications using ACAD and all is good.

I understand that plotters are NOT printers.

My question is does Eagle provide a way to output in a form the plotter will

understand?

or 2. is there a way to convert an eagle layout to a form which can be

imported into ACAD so I can plot from there?

As a hobbyist, the ability to make "one-off" boards by plotting directly to

copper saves a ton of work and produces a very high quality result

(depending on the 'Sharpies' used)

Thanks for your help

    Solution in Hand!

Thanks to those who took the time to try and answer my question.

I found the solution in a little program I downloaded about a week ago, but

    never put 2 & 2 together.

The program is called Terminal V.19b by Bray.

It allows full 'tweaking' of all Com Port parameters and has a 'send file'

    function.

It takes some editting to get the HPGL file generated by Eagle Cam to run

without plotter errors, but I've made magnificent strides today.

I will eventually create a detailed description of the process and post a

link to it here for anyone else who wants to use an old HP 7475A plotter to

    plot directly to copper.

Question: can you plot something from a other program such as WORD?

Or try to save the Eagle output to a file and then send it to the plotter

    by DOS in a DOS-Box using something like C:\Copy Filename.prn LPT1: /b

(the b sends it as a Binary file)

That worked for me when using Microstation to send drawing to a HP printer

when Bentley had not yet drivers implemented.
