Two Eagle 7.1 Issues

OS=Win 8.1

#1) I have downloaded several additional libraries and they are showing in the listing of libraries folders. I have also selected the "Use All" function to activate them... However, when searching the libraries for a device, these new libraries are not being included... That is to say, I know the device I am looking for is included in the new libraries, but the device that I want is not showing as an option in the search results to select to add on the schematic.

#2) I have created a separate library folder for cataloging new devices that I build. I have created a new device with a package layer and a symbol layer. I have tied these layers to the new device. I have tried to connect the symbol layer to the package layer, but they just won't connect. I can find this new device in the in the libraries, but when I add it to the schematic, I only get the package without the symbols.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

Any suggestions?

    The quickest way to a solution would be to upload your library so we can

    check it out.

    I have found that if I open that library up and click on the schematic (at the top) and redraw the symbol (and save).

    Then open the library and select the symbol (on the left). It should come up and associate with the library. I had to

    redraw several library symbols. Some trashing of libraries occurs with updates.

    Yes, keep your libraries in a sub-folder -- you will have to use the "USE * " command line upon many re-entries to

    the program. (Sometimes it remembers = bonus). It is important to save off a copy of your "mylibrary" to somewhere

    else as often as you have made significant changes.

    I also have to often go and select individual libraries with the Library --> Use... command.
