How do I copy/paste a layout from board editor to multiple copies of that layout?

I have a project that uses a cluster of LED's and associated components to

run those LED's.  I have placed the parts and routed the traces, and I

have a power and ground pad.

Now I want to take that entire layout and copy and paste it in a grid

pattern on my board, so that in the end I will have a 10 x 10 grid of

these smaller layouts.

I know Eagle has the panelize script but I don't think that will work,

because the power and ground pad of each cluster should all be connected

together.

If I lay it all out in the schematic editor, it is just too much work to

individually place a few thousand components, when all I want to do is

place them once, and copy-paste them into 99 other locations.

I tried closing the schematic, which lets me copy/paste them in the board

editor... but then I get an error that my PCB/schematic are not

consistent.  I tried having ONLY the replicated components on the board -

then closed the schematic, then pasted 99 copies in the board editor, then

opened the schematic, then copy-pasted 99 copies in the schematic editor,

but it still says the board and schematic are not consistent (because of

the component names, I think).

How do I most easily achieve this?

Thanks

MR

This was discussed earlier, the trick is to rename evrey net in the sch

with a unique name (no N$xx). Then you must close the sch, group, cut, paste

& arrange your brd's. Then close your brd & do the same with your sch's. At

last open both & correct GND & VCC, work thru the error-list. Now you should

have B-F-C again. Hint: do this with a copy of your original, so if anything

will crash, the original is not gone.
