How to import an existing design into a new one?

autodeskguest

My board design has several circuits, one is a Zigbee 2.4 GHz

transceiver from TI.  TI recommends that I copy their reference design

exactly into my pcb.  They provide a Gerber file.  I see how to import a

complete design into a complete design but how do I do a complete design

into part of an existing design?

TIA

I don't know of a tool that will read Gerber into EAGLE, though it

should be possible to write ULP to do this. I would check the EAGLE

website for such a tool, seems like something that has been done in the

past. Maybe that's what you mean by import the complete design. If you

have it in EAGLE, then you can probably use some merging or panelizing

    ULP to put them together.

In the absence of that, I would try to edit the gerbers together, maybe

there is such a gerber tool that can cut and paste gerber images on the

web. They are just text files, but it may not be trivial to locate the

imported section where you want it, as in , you may need to write a

program to offset all the locations of each element as you merge the data.
