How to fix clearance errors due to polygons

autodeskguest

I uploaded my design to the board house (AC Circuits) using their

manufacturing analysis.  It returned with more than 100 clearance

problems, all caused by the ground polygon being 4.776 mils away from a

signal track.  I have all of the clearances set to 5.00 mils minimum.

How can I fix this?

After posting I came up with a fix that seems to work. I changed the

minimum clearance to 6 mils and ran RATSNEST again to recalc the

polygons. The board house accepted that design without any clearance

    errors.

yeah, this has happened before. 5mils seems rather tight to me anyways,

even if they advertise they can hold that tolerance, do you really want

( need) them that close? 6 sounds better, and if no reason to have them

close, i would just use 8. anyone can do 8 these days...

Yeah, that's what I do too.  I use 8/8 rules unless there is a good reason

tighter spacing is needed.  Even if a board house can do better, you don't

want to be pushing the limits.  8/8 is pretty universally safe nowadays.
