new library device is inaccessable

autodeskguest

I just made one new device in version 5.8, adding it to an existing library

from v5.6. This is my first new device since updating to ver 5.8.

From the schematic editor, the new device does not show up in my "Add" parts

bin.

I have checked everything I can think of including making sure no illegal

characters or spaces are in the device or variant name. Still, I can't

access my new component.

I have done "update > xxx.lbr" through the schematic and PCB editors several

times -just in case- but that has not helped. I even started a new schematic

just to see if I could add the part there, but NO.

Strange, I can add the device to a schematic from the control panel tree

view. Still, the part will not appear through the schematic editor's "Add"

part.

Has anybody else seen this behavior or otherwise have some insight into what

is happening? I used to see this in a previous version when I tried to use a

space in my device or package name, but I have used no space here.

arrgh, help please

    Is the library "in use"?
