Harddrive and cdrom drive power connector.

Hi all.

From past experience, I have learned that if I can not google the

problem, it does not exists.

Problem:

I would like to use a standard 5.25" bay power connector, the types on

IDE CD/HD Drives, on my pcb.

I have been unable to find the right name for it.

This is the wire-part of it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molex_connector#Disk_drive_connector_.28Molex_8981_Series_Power_Connector.29

it says it should be a molex 8981 series connector.

This is another page, showing the same connector:

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

It says it is from the 1-48* series by AMP.

I have had no luck in finding any of them in eagle lbr's, but nor have I

found anyone else *** about the problem... So what am I doing wrong?

/Jan Rasmussen - not using eagle as much as he should.

Has a bunch of links...maybe one is what you are looking for?   I did

not find an obvious match in the Eagle libs...buts its only a 4 contact

part so should not be hard to make your own.

Yes I know, and by the looks of it, it would be more safe to get an

connector and measure it, before making the layout, as there seams to be

some confusion as there where it is 0.156" or 0.2" and so on.

Was just hoping that Eagle had a component ready, but then again, what

are the chances that the plug I get hold of, fits that image
