Anyone else having errors with version 6?

There are a few obvious bugs in version 6:

Schematic editor loading with a grid of 0.1", no matter how many times you tell it you want 0.05".

Parts not dropping where you let them go, i.e. jumping a grid place over.

Random connecting / not connecting when you drop a part on the end of a net.

But the biggest is the random changing of other nets that are not intended to be changed. If I have one page of nets called "DIGIN_0" through to "DIGIN_15", and I copy this to another page and rename the nets to "DIGIN_16" through to "DIGIN_31", then all looks good. I like the feature of "Just change this segment" - it's simple and useful.

When you re-open Eagle though, the two schematic pages have the same net names, i.e. both pages have nets "DIGIN_16" through "DIGIN_31".

The PCB however has the correct netlist information, so Eagle reports an error.

Specifically:

Error:

line 7777, column 9: redefinition of name 'DIGIN_16' in tag

This has happened three times now, each time I have lost a day and a half's work by re-entering data. Recovering saved backups only delays the problem until you re-open Eagle to be welcomed with the same message.

Having paid over £1200 for a three-seat license, I feel a little annoyed.

Can I go back to Version 5 with my new license?

Thanks for the tips guys, there is a green dot but I just double-click on the board filename and then confirm I'd like to open the schematic too. I've always done this so I didn't realise there would be a difference with version 6.

I'll edit the startup script too - thanks - most of the parts in the supplied libraries are 0.05" pitch (and indeed if you press the 'default' button on the grid setup that's what you get).

Robert describes the jumping of schematic parts far more precisely than I could - that is exactly what happens.

I'll send files once the PCB has been sent for manufacture, I do have copies but I'm a bit nervous about opening corrupt files with similar filenames to a live project.

    Thanks again for your help.

PS I have just moved a library that my project referenced (intending to update to the new path in Eagle once open) and when I started Eagle I got the windows message "Eagle.exe has stopped working...." Again, I'll send files to support.
