Does EagleCAD support more than two layers PCB design?

Former Member

Hi,

I have a design that needs to be compact, that is, small in size.  I am

not able to route the traces with just top and bottom layers.  I look to

do a 3-layer PCB.  Does EagleCAD support that?  Is there a tutorial or

example that I can learn from?

Thanks!

Yes, since it can do up to 16 layers.  However, if you're going to use more

than 2 layers you might as well go to 4.  There won't be any savings in

specifying only 3.  For most board houses, that probably means etching away

    the fourth layer.

Does the free version support 16 layers or does one need to purchase the full version to unlock this?

Freeware and Light Edition support 2 layers.

Freemium 4 layers (limited to 60 days)

Standard Edition and Non-profit allow 6 layers

    Professional Edition 16 layers.

Actually the fee edition can do 16 layers, it's the free edition that can

    only do 2.
