need to remove pads on a chip

Former Member
Former Member over 14 years ago

Need some assistance getting rid of four pads that should not exist, it is

messing with pcb-gcode and these pads are not nessesary.  Need to get this

done without messing up the consistency between the schematic and board.

These pads are not actually connected to pins but show up on the board, it

is a QFN28 chip and shows corner pads which dont actually do anything.

I wanted to attach a picture of what Im talking about but cant due to size

limit.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

    Hi Andy,

Are you referring to a pad in the middle of the package? That's used for

heat dissipation and may or may not be connected depending upon the

    manufacturer's recommendation.

    Hopefully helpful,

    Jeff Long.
