Better Eagle zooming with trackballs, how?

autodeskguest

Just switched to a Logitech T-BC21 trackball because it's much easier on

the wrist. And dog hair from our Labradors does not get in so easily image

How can one zoom better with trackballs which do not have mouse wheels?

I assigned the two back buttons to F3 and F4 so zoom essentially works.

But not nearly as well as the mouse where the wheel will zoom into

wherever the pointer was. Unfortunately in Eagle F3/F4 are

"pointer-insensitive" and thus do not zoom centered at the pointer or

cursor.

Does anyone know a trick how to emulate a mouse wheel with a trackball?

Like CTRL + roll the ball? Despite being very bloated the Logitech

configuration download does not offer this.

    Hi Joerg,

with the "Logitech SetPoint software" it should be possible to adjust

    the trackball.

Another thing is: Could it be possible that the trackball has a lower

    dpi than  your mouse?

I downloaded that rather bloated SetPoint software. Over 80MB

(megabytes!) but not much to write home about. I does not let you fully

emulate the scroll wheel of a simpe mouse which was quite disappointing.

Zoom neither works in Eagle nor in Foxit.

No idea but otherwise it works just as well as the mouse.
