Via's get lost when changing layer

I'm trying to flip some already drawn details from top layer to bottom,

 

and eagle (7.5.0) for some strange reasons seems to find it suitable to

 

remove all the vias connected to these nets when I group change layer.

want to keep those vias and cant find a way to prevent Eagle from doing

 

this. Are there workaround or should this be flagged as a bug?

What if you turn off the via layer before you select the group so that vias

aren't included in the change layer command?  Does that help?  Just an

idea, not sure if it will help or not.

Unfortunately that does not help.

The only thing I can do with some effort is to copy the vias first, then

change layer, and then move vias back. But if the copy buffer contains a

lot of different nets, there will be some work renaming the new via

names back. Not ideal. Wish there was some way of keeping the netnames

during a copy easily (maybe there is?). I guess I have a clone script

that can do it, but even that is not as straight forward as it should be.
