Finding disconnected nets

You din't mention sch/brd nor which version.

Try command "show @ netname" that should draw a box around the net

(assuming ver. 5.11.x)

It is 5.11.0 Mac. Schematic.

I tried show @ netname, and it draws a box around the whole page, not a

single net. Also, when I run error checks, the dialog box lists these and

other errors. Other errors I can double clock and it does a show, and

properly puts a box around the error. The disconnected net errors do not

behave this way.

Try to move (F7) your nets. If there is an unconnected stub, it will show,

so you can delete it.

Ok, I typed:

MOVE N$101

Got message:

Unknown part N$101

What is the syntax that tells the command line N$101 is a net?

I tried MOVE 'N$101' and MOVE NET N$101, etc

There must be some syntax that tells it you are acting on a net rather

than a part.

The doc on move does not seem to imply you can move a net.

It is better to click with the mouse into a net & move it. so you can see

any stubs.

error check still says I have disconnected nets. My assumption is there

is a small island of wire somewhere I can't see. When I do a SHOW @ N

$XYZ, where XYZ is the node, I get a box around the whole page, but 4X

bigger than the schematic. It is so big that I can't unzoom to see the

whole box, rather than a stub. I am wondering if I have some island of

trace outside the schematic area that is causing the box to misbehave.

So I am stuck and not sure how to find it. Seems there needs to be a

simple command that says DELETE N@XYZ to deal with this.

Also, I have about 8 of these. It is hard to imagine getting 8 islands

of wire I can't see. So I am wonder if there is a bug and I have some

habit of wiring parts that trips it up.

The problem went away. I had rebooted my Mac yesterday, and now the problem

is gone. I created an error just to be sure the ERC actually ran, and all

the disconnected nets are gone, so I can't give the precise error until the

problem occurs again.
