XREF flag options

rtzaudio
rtzaudio over 14 years ago

I would like to see an option within the XREF object itself that

indicates whether the flag outline & cross ref data are drawn or not. I

understand this is controlled by the global XREF settings now, but it

sure would be nice to use this feature to label the ends of nets also

that don't necessarily go off to another sheet.

Also, the xref sheet/row/col data should print AFTER the net label name

for rotation values >= 180 degrees (eg when on the left hand or bottom

side of net end).

I still want to see other options for the flag style so that allows

drawing like Orcad with the double arrow head styles (eg ->> NETNAME and

-<< NETNAME) rather than the framed arrow around the text. Another

option would be to draw a small port flag and put the text outside to

the left or right.

In general, I just don't like the arrow border drawn around the text -

it's just plain ugly on complicated drawings with all the flags sizes

different lengths and makes reading the names difficult. PLEASE give us

more options for the XREF feature!!

Hi Joern, I'm not saying it shouldn't support the framed type also, but

I'd like another type of port. The simple orcad double arrow heads would

be a blessing for me as I deal with some large drawings regularly.

Currently, I have make the text size smaller (like 50 mil) in order to

line up the XREF borders when placing XREF's next to each other on a

0.1" grid. Typically I keep text size at the default 70 mils at everything.

My eyes are shot as is, so trying to read 50 mil bordered text in scaled

down printout requires a magnifier glasses for me. I'd like to have a

printer capable of printing architectural sized drawings, but that's not

likely to happen in this lifetime.

Hi Bob, I see you point of view now. In case labels are at 100 mil

distance one (must) use size 50 for text since the other 50 mils are for

the frame. Without frame, size could be 80 mils (better for your eyes)  image

Perhaps cadsoft cold generate kind of bracket for a frameless label

[[something like this]] but with an option to switch the frame on.

I still wouldn't want pointers for any direction as I have mentioned before.

BTW did you try increase the text ratio for a better readability?
