show landscape/portrait  on screen

Is is possible to TEMPORARILY switch to a landscape view of my board

layout---it would fit my widescreen better when I zoom in to do some work.

I certainly don't want to start all over!

The normal orientation is portrait to show what I'd consider the top of the

board at the top of the screen.

there is no such display option in eagle, but ...

... you can "display all; group all; rotate R-90 (>0 0), display last"

that won't work if you have locked parts though!!!

Additionally, depending on your text settings, the layout may be

MINUTELY different after rotating: By default, EAGLE shows texts so that

they are readable from below or the right side. Rotating the board of

course also rotates the text and, in order to make it readable, EAGLE

might rotate the text some additional 180 degrees. If you're using

ground polygons, these will flow a little bit different then and, on

dense boards, might create problems (we once had the problem of

    unconnected 'islands' after rotation).

Therefore, if you want to have a really RELIABLE display, don't rotate

the board. And since EAGLE cannot rotate the view, you're stuck. Too bad...

IMHO this is one of the worst features of Eagle. It should be possible

to rotate text (e.g. when I want to assemble several board into one

panel and have to rotate one board to fit).

Also options for center and right alignment would be nice sometimes.

As a matter of fact, that IS already possible: Every text comes with a

SPIN flag that tells EAGLE whether this text should be automatically

rotated to ease reading or not: Enable this SPIN and the text DOESN'T

    automatically rotate.

Ah. Never noticed that. Personally, I would prefer to have this enabled

    by default...

The problem is that this feature depends on the individual OBJECT's

settings, which one doesn't know and cannot see while rotating the whole

    board.

    Yes - agreed.
