Preventing stubs

Often when routing wide (.04"+) traces I'll end up with a stub where the

end of one trace extends beyond the edge of the one it's joining (see

above).  Is there a way to fix or prevent this?

    Obviously, this happens when that trace is wider than the one it's

    joining. EAGLE simply puts the endpoints of the tracks at the same

    coordinate - so from there, they each extend by half of their width.

     

    If you don't want to match trace widths, you can route a (really) short

    stub of the smaller width first, and then the rest of the trace in your

    larger width. Take care that with extreme width differences, the result

    may not look more beautiful than now...

     

    Generally, the simplest solution is to use the same trace width for that

    complete signal.
