    here).

It's even more complicated - if you use several design files within one

project...

That's why I don't let eagle.scr change any such settings.

Since we don't use projects here, I don't know what's the best way to do

that. Tilmann's method will surely work, and since he seems to be an

experienced guy, I just take it for granted that that's the way to go...

For this, I use my personal "defaults.scr" containing all my personal

favorite settings (used layers, colors, grid, via size, text size etc.).

After creating a board from a schematic, I simply run that script.

     as when last edited, BUT small mistakes (e.g., showing a

     different grid just for measuring) will NEVER be set back to

     menus, etc., independent of its settings when last edited, do

     NOT use projects, but 'new schematic'. This does NOT

     save any settings, so the defaults from 'eagle.scr' are used

     EVERY TIME you open the design.

     This takes some seconds longer during design, because

     previously changed settings get reset automatically, BUT at

     least one can RELY on those defaults and does not need to

     make sure that all millions of possible settings were really

     left as wanted on last exit.

It's your choice how you want to work.

Eagle starts each time using a default set of settings until modified by a

later action. You did this manually from the command line but it can be done

for you as you open a design file.

The parameters you see in the demo projects are the eagle native(default)

ones unless modified by 'eagle.scr'

Each time you open a design file the script file 'eagle.scr' is

automatically run. It is here you place these same command lines you

manually entered so that your wishes are implemented.

Any eagle.scr settings change the native default settings. If nothing is

mentioned nothing changes.

View eagle.scr and note the different sections. Place your SET commands in

the BRD: section

e.g.

Set Width_Menu 0 0.001 0.004 0.006 0.01 0.015 0.02 0.025 0.03 0.04 0.05 0.06

0.08 0.1 0.15 0.2;

Change Width 0.03;

Another file interacts here, in some cases, as well. 'eaglerc.usr' . This

stores user settings the last time you saved all /exited a file/project. and

restores them upon opening the next design file. Sometimes it happens that a

change to eagle.scr does not appear to work when it is 'eaglerc.usr' making

itself felt. So during testing you need to assure that the editor you are

working in reflects the way you want it when you close it.  That said, your

'width_menu, diameter_menu' lists are not held there.
