Autoroute misses simple routing

Occasionally autoroute will miss really obvious tracking, I've just tried

autoroute on a new board, it's happily routed about 95%, and the remaining

5% are right next to each other with no obstructions between. Why won't

autorouter lay a simple straight track between the two. It's quite happy

for me to manually route between the two, but won't do it automaticaly.

Have I missed something? or is this just a quirk of the system?

    Maybe the routing grid is set to a large value?    Maybe your manual

    routing has violated some clearance limits which will get flagged when

    you run the DRC.
