Hyperlinks

I'm using the device description right now.

I just think that it's not a logical approach that I have to use the

"ADD" command to get the datasheet link for a device that is already

placed in my schematic...

we do have hyperlinks in all kinds of Eagle descriptions (like for

packages, devices, since V6 also sheets, board and more).

The best way to do what you want is the device description.

So I don't think this is necessary.

I know that there are several ways to realize hyperlinks in schematic,

like your ULP or an "attribute" in a "device" (I'm using this approach

already).

I was just looking for a more user-friendly solution like a hyperlink in

the "info"-box of a device in a sheet or board.

It's a little bit strange that hyperlinks work in "all kinds of Eagle

descriptions..." (like Cadsoft says) but not in a "Info"-box, although

this box shows absolutely the same attribute defined in a device!

You may want to consider uploading your HyperLink.ulp to the website so

that other may benefit from it as well. Since we are running the

Smartest EAGLE contest you might as well, through it in there as well.

Obviously you would only be interested in the contest if you didn't own

a normal pro license.

 

In any case the community will benefit, for your ULP.
