Is there a snap to grid feature in the   layout editor?

Hi,

 

Is there a snap to grid feature in the layout editor?

 

 

a few days a go, I had to copy and paste a layout+schematic, that all

worked out fine, but the parts don't align to my grid, ( at least the part

origins don't.)

 

This made it tedious for manual routing,

 

I had to put my parts "back on grid", so to speak, but it would be nice if

there was a "Right-Click" option called, "Snap to grid" for parts, which

will align parts to the nearest grid lines.

 

what do you think?

    There's a CTRL-click that does this during the "pick up" part of the

    Move command.  Or maybe option-click or cmd-click, depending on OS or

    Keyboard.  (definitely cmd-click for Mac.)

    Damn!!!!! you you guys are right!

     

    I should of read the f!@#$% manual!!!!

     

     

    I wasted so much time retyping coordinates to align these off grid parts, I

    just tried the COMMAND + MOVE and works on the mac perfectly, this will

    save tonnes of time.

     

    The should be a help hint in the bottom status bar that show the options.

    Also handy is using that same combination with the WIRE command. In this

    case the new wire is snapped to the end of the last (closest wire)

     

    This snapping functionality is a little hard to find in the manual  as there

    is no dedicated section devoted to snapping to grid.

    We need a snapping command key for snapping a wire's vertices back on grid,

    is there such a thing?

     

    I wish that wires could only be drawn at 90 or 45 degs, when moving

    vertices around, I spend most of my time realign traces.

    Again its  the same action  Hold the CTL key as you select the end of the

    wire with the MOVE command. The end of the wire will snap to the current

    grid

    I like the MS Paint method of holding the shift as you create a line to

    constrain it to orthagonal or 45 degrees
