MARK - Set from object 'Information'  dia log

I see this being useful for the wire and arc ends, and circle center.

 

Currently setting a MARK off the current grid requires you to specify

the coordinates which are usually obtained from object information

dialogs.

 

Unfortunetly this takes multiple copy and pastes or hopefully you

remember the figures correctly to type. Generally the current process

is painful.

 

I should perhaps state my end goal rather than a solution that is v5 based.

V6 has the potentioal to offer a better solution.

The requirement is to be able to place the MARK at the exact end of a wire

or center of a circle.

The purpose is to be enable to use relative  and polar coordinates to

further develop the design accurately referrenced to existing objects. .

The initial method I suggested could well coexist with a more efficient

suggestion detailed below as it would satisfy those pushing for more GUI

I now suggest as the method to place the MARK at the end of a wire or

circle center is to leverage the code that already exists.

MARK could work similar to WIRE where, if you hold the CTL key it will snap

you to the wire end within snap range.

MARK currently snaps to the grid using CTL so SHIFT could be used for this

alernate function where MARK snaps to the wire end or circle center

V6 has dimension code that snaps the points to various naerby objects. I

feel this ccould be leveaged to obtain this functionality.

I don't think such a special functionallity is a good idea.

On the other hand I often wished for an easy way to copy a coordinate

pair (x y) or even start end point pair (x1 y1)(x2 y2) to the

clipboard for further use.

But even more I'm missing the possibility to trigger an ulp via mouse

click (in combination with any alt, ctrl, shift combination) and a ulp

function to get the actual mouse (click) coordinates.

Either of this would give a convinient way to do such special

functions as Warrens request.
