Scroll wheel with Eagle 6 on Mac

Former Member

Hi,

I've just upgraded to Eagle 6 (I'm looking forward to  indexing the XML format files for my search engine!) - however, I can't  get the scroll wheel to work.

It's enabled in the options (User Interface -> Mouse wheel zoom = 1.2), but it does absolutely nothing.

If I load Eagle 5.11, it works fine.

Note that setting the zoom to 0 doesn't allow me to scroll around either.

This happens with both of my mice (wired and wireless mighty mouse).

Any ideas?

BTW, I'm glad the bug where my ULPs to set the print zoom, mirror, black and so forth has been fixed since 5.11 - although I still can't use the Cmd-<n> keys to switch between the windows.

The next beta version 6.0.1 will have a switch in "Options/User interface"

named "Legacy mouse wheel mode" that can be selected to switch back

to the old mouse wheel handling under Mac OS X.

Please watch the eagle.betatest newsgroup for the announcement of version 6.0.1.

    Hi,

Many thanks for the reply. I'll look on the beta releases.

Does this mean if I had a track-pad, or the new mouse, it would work fine?

I do have a "Contour Design ShuttleXpress", which, after I'd posted my message, I configured the central jog wheel to send Shift-F3 and Shift-F4, and made these keys use "Window 1.2" and "Window 0.8333333" which zooms a bit - although it's central to the screen, rather than the mouse pointer position. Is there a way to get the Window command to use the mouse pointer, rather than the screen? This would be a closer workaround.

It means that you can switch between the way things were done

in version 5 and the new method that tries to implement the

new two-finger-pan-gestures as used in Mac OS X 10.7. With

a MagicTrackpad these work really nice.

    You can use

       WINDOW (@);

to move the point at the current mouse position to the

center of the editor window. But I'm not sure if this

will actually help here. I'm afraid simulating what the

mouse wheel does by means of command line entries can't be

    done.
