Global Document # And Rev Level

Is there a way to set the document # and rev level of a schematic once,

and have it appear in the title boxes of all of the frames?

 

I'm thinking of something like the capability one has in Word or

OpenOffice, to set a global document property, then have a field that

displays that property anywhere in the document.

 

I'm using the 'TABL_L' frame, just in case it's already implemented and I

just need to set something...

    here is an example for the rev level:

     

    - Open frames.lbr

    - edit docfield.sym

    - place the text ">REV" somewhere within the symbol

    - open a schematic and execute "update frames" command

    - add a global attribute named REV to the schematic

     

    The symbol's place-holder ">REV" should be replaced with the attribute's

    value now. The procedure for the document number is the same, only

    choose a different name for the attribute.

     

    Please keep in mind, that your changes to the library get lost with the

    next EAGLE update. Better copy the frames-library to your private

    library directory and do the changes here.

    Thanks, that's exactly what I was hoping for.

     

    I don't modify the EAGLE libraries at any rate -- I use my own private

    copies for any different stuff.  This'll be perfect.
