Negative text on silkscreen

e14 Contributor
e14 Contributor over 14 years ago

Hello everybody.

Is there  a way (perhaps a ULP) for creating negative text on

silkscreen ? I know it can be done by importing a .bmp file but

i wonder if there is a more elegant way.

Thanks

There is a ULP called negasilk.ulp by Christian Bohrer

It exists as an attachment to a posting in the eagle.support.eng forum

The easiest way to locate it is to use the eagle central portal

    http://www.eaglecentral.ca/forums/ and search for negasilk

It's in the topic "silkscreen inverse text"

The negasilk ULP has also been uploaded to the online repository at

    www.cadsoftusa.com-> Downloads-> User Language Programs. It's been

submitted should show up on the list in a day or two.

Did you get permission from the author to upload it to the CadSoft site?

Correct me if I'm wrong. The terms of use of the CadSoft site are, if you

upload something there the IP rights are transferred/gifted to CadSoft.

There are no such terms for the Newsgroup forum and some authors elect to

post content there but purposly avoid uploading to the website to prevent

gifting the IP rights to CadSoft.

It may pay to check out your action.

    Hi Christian,

The two sites mirror each other, I was able to find importexport.zip and

pcb-service.ulp on the new site as expected, however I couldn't find

gencad_131.ulp. I let our webmaster know and see what happens.

    Hi Warren,

Then it sounds like you're better off posting the ULP to the Online Repo

then to the newsgroup. The Upload rules seem a lot less intrusive then

    the newsgroup guidelines.

    Funny how things work.

    Hi Christian.

I would like to thank you for your ULP. It really saved me hours of work.

    Thanks Christian,

I'm sorry if I stepped on your toes. I made sure to give you credit on the upload, thanks of

    writing the ULP.

I hope the clarification will ease the concerns of other users and motivate them to post their

ULPs on the site so that other users may benefit from them.

    Thanks again.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Jorge,

Maybe I missed something but it seems there are two sites to post ULPs

    The old:

    http://cheetah.cadsoftusa.com/cgi-bin/download.pl?page=/home/cadsoft/html_public/download.htm.en&dir=eagle/userfiles/ulp

    And the new: http://www.cadsoftusa.com/cadsoft-downloads/

If this is the case, there are 3 programs on the old site that have not been transferred to the new

    site:

    importexport.zip

    pcb-service.ulp

    gencad_131.ulp

    Best Regards,

    Christian Bohrer
