Schematic select PCB move

I have a Schematic with a large component count. Is it possible to group

select in the schematic view and then group move ( for placement ) in

the layout view. Also may I suggest that it would be preferable to have

the components mimic the placement on the schematic rather than having

long lines of components that have no real value, even if these

components were to be placed next to or over one other, Typically most

boards layout would mimic the schematic order in some form even if it is

just in groupings.

Thanks

    Hello there

Could someone please assist me in the question posted bellow. I will

rephrase the question more clearly, perhaps this is the reason no one

has bothered to try and assist me.

I would like to know if there is a way I can group and move components

in board editor based on a group selection made in the schematic editor.

i.e.. I would like to select in the schematic all the components say

aground my power supply and then have them selected in board enabling me

to move them off to one corner of board. This way I can place them

without searching through hundreds of component every time.

I do apologise if this question has been asked before though I have

searched the group and cannot find it if it has. I am entitled to

assistance in this forum as I am a licence holder of Eagle 6 professional.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

Thank you all for your help

I was under the incorrect impression that this forum was supported, paid

for or run by eagle staff. With this information I am now so much more

appreciative off what you guys offer here as a service.

As for apg.ulp, it does not function which does not surprise me as my

schematic is spread over 6 different sheets. I will look at the

scripting option mentioned by Chuck. Though this will be a learning

curve for me as I have not yet used the scripting.

    Kind regards

    Jannie
