Silkscreen layout (Layer)

Hey guys, I am planning to do silkscreen layer for my DIY PCB. So which layer should be visible and which layer should not be visible ?

Do we have option to choose where we want the entire layout to be in silkscreen layer ?

Thank you

You can control which eagle layers get output into which gerber files in

the CAM processor.   I've usually seen people put tPlace, tNames,

tDocument in the top silkscreen.    Sometimes tValues is also included

but this can get messy fast unless your layout is very sparse.

    Regards,

    Jim

Usually not tDocument actually. For most libraries (although the

supplied ones aren't consistent on it) the tPlace layer should contain

the outline for the silk screen, while tDocu fills in the bits that have

to be excluded for solder mask - i.e. the parts of the outline that

cover the pads, such as pins.

Of course if you're doing a top-side silk on a single-sided board then

you may well want those extra bits.
