Broken Ground Plane

(EAGLE 5.10) I have a 4-layer board I've been working on for months that

last night, as I was finishing the layout, the ground plane polygon on

layer 2 quit pouring properly & instead seemed to connect every pin & via

on the layer w/the only reliefs appearing around drilled holes (not pads)

exclusively. I do see thermals & isolation rings in the layer but the pour

is solid & covers everything. (confirmed via gerber file) Grid is 0.1",

width is .008", pour is solid, spacing is .05", isolate is 0, rank is 1 &

thermals is checked. I'm using the exact same settings on the power planes

(layer 3) which are still pouring just fine. What next? The brd file at

110K is too big to post here but I'll send it to anyone who wants to see

it. Thanks in advance

Joern, I get it! Putting a polygon on a supply layer confuses the CAM

processor & truly mucks up the display if the polygon is smaller than the

board outline. Which is what I did Thursday night, resize the polygon on

layer 2. Just for grins I just now deleted the ground polygon & re-ran the

CAM processor, the ground plane was there in all of its glory albeit the

size of the full board outline! Subtle, eh? Thanks again for your help, I

completely missed this one (& have been using EAGLE for years, but this is

my first multi-layer board with this software). Yea, EAGLE Central Forums!

Yeah, sometimes *** happens. Glad I could help image

Wow, Joern, unselecting supply layer worked, thank you so much! Not only

would I have never found this on my own, I have no idea how the box was

checked in the first place unless I checked it back in Sept. when the

layout started. But I didn't start having pour problems until two nights

ago, hmmm... But again, thank you very much for helping!

IMHO you have selected layer2 as a supply layer "$gnd".

You must remove the "$" sign:

Display layers, mark layer2, select "change" then remove the hook from

"supply layer" that should do the job image

ZIP the file and it will be small enough to post
