ULP naming on inner layers

Hi,

Top and bottom layers can be referred to by the built in constants

LAYER_TOP and LAYER_BOTTOM but how do you refer to inner layers?

Thanks.

Now I see what you are asking.

There are no constants for the inner layers. LAYER_TOP and LAYER_BOTTOM are

integer constants that return 1 and 16 respectively. That equates to their

layer numbers so just test for layer numbers or make up you own. Personally

    in a ULP I simply test LAYER.NAME = = 2 or what ever I'm interested in .

    Warren,

Thanks.  I was coming to the conclusion that there weren't built in

constants for the other layers.  I need to read a bit more about the ULP

language to try to achieve what I want.

See HELP LAYER or the manual

    Warren,

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't work.  The error is "unknown

identifier 'Route2'".  If you use "LAYER_ROUTE2" you get "unknown

identifier 'LAYER_ROUTE2'" (and for pretty much any combination I have

    been able to think of).

I haven't been able to find anything in the help or the manual about

how to refer to the inner layers in a ULP.  For some reason it

doesn't seem to be the same as "name" or "Layer_name" normally used

to refer to the layer, even though "layer_top" and "layer_bottom"

    works.
