Display Pad Names

Hello,

 

I would like to ask you why, the SET PAD_NAMES ON/OFF command or in the

Menu:

Options -> Set->Misc->Display Pad Names, doesn't show the pad names in the

schematic editor?

    Hi Tom,

     

    When creating a part in the library it's possible to specify whether pad

    names are displayed or not in the schematic editor. In some cases

    (resistors)it doesn't make sense to display pad names in the schematic

    symbol, hence why the option is defined in the library. It's easy to set

    look at the properties of a pin and you'll see the visible parameter

    which allows you to select whether you want both the pin and pad name,

    neither, or one of the two to be displayed.

     

    The SET PAD_NAMES ON/OFF option only applies to the layout.

    Hi Jorge,

     

    thanks for your answer. Yes I know that it works in this way, but it is

    little bit "painfull" to edit every part and every pin in library, just if

    you only want to check in schmatic editor if evrithing in library is done

    in right way. When you print it it will be also shown and you can't turn it

    of globally. It will be nice if this option will works in schematic editor.

    For example, it is necessary if you have to convert and make consistent

    some eagle projects from Eagle version 2 image Also it will be very

    nice/helpfull if the pin name in symbol could be smashed.
