for unsmashed parts name, value and any additional attributes stay in

the position relative to the part that is defined in the library.

Using the smash command on a part give the name, value and attribute

text their own origins (little crosshair) and make them independently

movable.

Hi Jorge,

i need an advice: I am working and performing a very easy schematic...and i try to replace the name (R2 f.i) form the part in itself and sometimes it's quite difficult with the mouse to do it because everything moves in the same time...even when i focus on it, it seems impossible to do it, to separate the two elements (name/attribute and part)...and however, i am sur i can do it! So, what the best way to make it correctly?

I am working with DipTrace when all of a sudden I got an error with the PCB. See I am using schematic when I wanted to switch to board so I pressed ctrl+B to switch to schematic when I got this error. The error said that I needed to write a pattern for my diodes and push switches so I did. Then I got this error"Components 'S1, D1, and D2' contains pins which are connected to nets but do not have attached pads. The schematic can be converted to the board incorrectly." Please Jorge I have no idea what that means as matter of a fact I don't know where to start can you please help me?

Hiya Noah,

If you're using Diptrace, you should probably try the DipTrace Forum for questions.  There are some great people over there.  This forum is really about EAGLE, so we won't be able to help you as well as they might.  (BTW, I thought you were singing the praises of FreePCB?)

The USB people have a couple different kinds of IDs.  There is a Vendor ID that identifies the manufacturer of a particular device, and there is a Product ID that is assigned for each separate device that a vendor makes...

This is a USB-A plug, which (as you probably ought to know) is a four

pin connector. The "case" pin is pin 5. It's not part of the USB

circuit, but is connected to the metal body of the connector.

You can connect it to chassis ground (if you have on) or leave it floating.
