Forward and back annotation broken. Help!

that simple design, clicking on new board gave me that same error and

then none of the components were transferred to the board.  I have

uninstalled Eagle and reinstalled it with the same results.  I have even

gone into the registry and deleted all references to Cadsoft and Eagle.

I also deleted all directories and subfolders use by Eagle, and then did

another fresh install.  Same problem. When I create any type of circuit

in the schematic and open a new board it gives me a forward and back

annotation error and no components on the board.

 

i'm afraid I have things so screwed up I'll never get Eagle to work

again.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

YOU don't have to create a new board, eagle will do that for you.

If you have a schematic the only thing you have to do is to  click the

board symbol. Eagle will ask you if you wanna create the board and you

just say OK

Eagle will look for a board with the same name as the schematic and

check they are consistent (forward \ back annotation).

It sounds like you maybe using the same name for the schematic or if

that was previously deleted, the matching (old) board still exists and

thus does not match the schematic.

I think Joern meant to say Click the button / icon " Generate/ Switch

to board" It's the 5th item on the tool bar or can be found in the

'File' menu.
