Forward and back annotation broken. Help!

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

Late last week I downloaded the free version of Eagle 6.5 following Jeremy Blum's tutorial on Eagle.  All went well, I was able to create a schematic and then transfer it to a board and do routing.  Sometime in the last couple days I screwed something up and I have no idea what I did.

If I create any type of schematic and then go to open a new board Eagle gives me the error massage  that the forward and back annotations are not available.  As a test I placed a battery, LED and one resistor in the work area for Eagle and then made the correct connections.  I ran the electric circuit check and all connections were fine. But even with that simple design, clicking on new board gave me that same error and then none of the components were transferred to the board.  I have uninstalled Eagle and reinstalled it with the same results.  I have even gone into the registry and deleted all references to Cadsoft and Eagle.  I also deleted all directories and subfolders use by Eagle, and then did another fresh install.  Same problem. When I create any type of circuit in the schematic and open a new board it gives me a forward and back annotation error and no components on the board.

i'm afraid I have things so screwed up I'll never get Eagle to work again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

YOU don't have to create a new board, eagle will do that for you.

If you have a schematic the only thing you have to do is to  click the

board symbol. Eagle will ask you if you wanna create the board and you

    just say OK image

Thanks guys, I am apparently too stupid to operate Eagle.  The good news is that it worked fine this morning, the bad news is now I have to find my gun ;-)  but since I am 60 it might take a while to find it.
