Saving BOM

Thanks for getting back to me.  I've checked the bom4.ulp, but this does not do what I would like.  It is still sorting the list by value and not part name.  Most fab houses that I've had experience with like to see components listed by parts, or reference designators.  Like all the Caps listed, then the diodes, connectors, LEDs, resistors, ICs, etc in alphabetical order (C, D, J, LED, Q, R, U, ...).

I can save the file and then use excel to manually sort the list by the parts column, but I would like to avoid having to do that manually.  It would be convenient if the ULP could do that for me.

Any other thoughts?

Yes, but in my experience they usually want parts of a given type to be

grouped by value, so first all the 100nF caps, then the 220nF, then 1uF

etc. They don't usually want them sorted by designator.

No, sorry. As I said, it seems to work for me, but maybe I have a

different version (the PC I'm at has Eagle 5 on it, not v7)

I actually always do post-process the ULP output, but that's mostly to

clean up special cases and generate other formats like ordering details

and labels for the bagged up free-issue components. It's a system I

developed in the days of Eagle 4, before attributes or DesignLink.

Did you figure out easy way to get BOM values listed in alphabetical order that you wanted? . I want it same way , Please tell me if there is a way  to avoid manual editing on Excel .
