Hello,
I'm using EAGLE from time to time and recently updated to version 7.4.0.
Unfortunately, after googeling and searching for hours, I still can't figure out how to copy devices (parts) from one library to another.
Can somebody help me please?

Most probably, it still works exactly the way it always has:
a) Use the command line. With the target library open, enter:
copy devicename.dev@sourcelib (enter appropriate names here)
b) Use the control panel. With the target library open, switch to the
control panel, open the source library there, select the device with
the right mouse button and chose "copy to library".
I am pretty sure that with looking into the manual (or even trying HELP
COPY...), you wouldn't have been "searching for hours".

In Version 7.4.0 for Mac OS X, open the library to be copied to: Select the Control Panel window and then follow the menu chain File > Open > Library...
Go back to the Control Panel and find the part you want in the Libraries twist-down.
Control-click on the part to pop up a menu. Select Copy to Library.
Hello Tilmann,
Sorry for my late reply :-(
For any reason, I'm often confused while using EAGLE. The processes don't seem to follow the same "logic" as other programs I use. Since I use EAGLE only from time to time, it is for sure normal that I get in some trouble, sometime.
Everything is fine now and I thank you again for your information.
Have a very nice day.

Seconding this method, because I get asked a lot.
-- Open the DESTINATION library
-- Navigate to the library>part/package/symbol you want using the Control Panel
--Right click the part, select COPY TO LIBRARY
1. open the library u need to copy.
2. select "group" tool -> select all -> select "copy" tool -> right-click on empty space -> select option "group copy"
3. file open when the library you want to paste this footprint. File -> open.
4. select the "paste" tool. here you go. left click at the origin all done.
