So hello everyone, I hope I am posting this question to the right place. I am trying to make something based an a book I found, s small circuit (see image) that activates a flash when a loud sound is made, just like the clap thing that switches on and off the lights. The flash I am using has batteries (starblitz 220 baz) and it flashes when the 2 terminals are conected (even if it connected for a couple of seconds it only flashes once). So the schematic I found makes me think that the Thyristor used is actually passing current through the flash and it makes me wonder if i could achieve the same result using a simple transistor. Any ideas?. If I decide to use a thyristor (and if this works okay with the flash and no current passing) is it a big problem that i can't find a 400V,6A SCR. I can only find 800V, 12A where I live. Your help will help a lot with a project that I am working on currently!
