Use None and All Libraries Still Show Up

I'm having a problem with Eagle 7.3.0. I've selected Use none for a large number of libraries, and confirmed that the dot next to them is gray instead of green. However, when I click to add a component, I get all of the libraries. The libraries I'm trying to exclude are ones that are installed by Eagle. I event removed the $EAGLEDIR\lbr entry from the Directories dialog (from the Libraries text box), and they still show up. I also exited and restarted Eagle and they still show up.

Has anyone else run into this? Is this a known bug in 7.3? I tried 7.5, but I get the same issue.

Thanks,

  -- John

Yes, I'm using projects. I didn't have an eagle.epf file for the project I had open. However, there were eagle.epf files in other projects that were visible in the Control Panel. So I deleted all of those eagle.epf files, restarted Eagle, and I'm seeing the same thing. It's very odd... I do have Eagle 6.6 installed on my machine, as well as 7.3.0. Should I try removing Eagle 6.6?

    Thanks,

    Hi

I suspect you are using projects.

Each project folder will have a file name eagle.epf

Inside that file are the USED libraries from when the project was last

    closed.

After closing a project, even if you UN-USE all the libraries in the

control panel, when you open the project later the epf file is read and

the libraries it contains are set to USE. If you now look at the control

panel, all those libraries will now have the green dot/USED.

You should be able UN-USE them all and to go back to the schematic where

they should not appear on an ADD.

I should add a couple more comments

The epf could be pointing to libraries of an earlier version, when you

used the project in that earlier/other version. Hence you are turning

off the current version libraries but the older version libraries are

    being presented with the ADD.

Open the eagle.epf file with a text editor. You should be able to see if

    this is the case

You can delete the eagle.epf file of the project and another will

    created later

    All the best

    Warren
