Hi Guys,

I have started using eagle recently. I am trying to design a PCB that includes nrf51822 device. I have downloaded the NRF51.lbr. While designing I could found that the number of pins is not correct in the part,  but package is correct. In part the pin number is 49 instead of 48. I want to delete the unwanted pin from the part and verify the connections. I have tried few tutorials. Most of them are for creating new library. I could not found a tutorial that helps my requirement. Any suggestion will be helpful. (If anyone is having the correct nrf51 library please help .)

thanks

    Hi Rahul,

Are you absolutely sure? That nRF part is available in a QFN package that actually has 49 connections (QFN48 + Exposed Pad).

    Hi,

I have attached the library link. As per my understanding in the nrf51822 there is only 48 pins.

    Hi Rahul,

The datasheet shows there are 49 pins (48 + pad)..

Still don't see what the issue is..

    It states:

The exposed center pad of the QFN48 package must be connected to ground for proper device operation.

    Agreed. See https://www.snapeda.com/parts/NRF51822-BEACON/Nordic%20Semiconductor/view-part/

I would delete that library and project first. Then install this https://github.com/ThoughtWorkshop/eagle-libraries/tree/master/PTR5518

a look alike or goto nRF51822 Evaluation Kit / Bluetooth Smart/Bluetooth low energy / Products / Home - Ultra Low Power Wireless Solutions fr…

reference layout for gerber files to import into eagle.

    Hi shabaz,

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I would like to tell you that I am new to hardware design. So the VSS (marked yellow in the picture) represent the pad connection? Wish I could verify the connections before continue with the design. Only because the above part is developed and posted by some people who likes to help and support others. please give me a feedback.
