Create Device using multiple Devices?

I have created a Device to hold a AA battery in place using two through-hole clips spaced apart. I did this so I could move the battery clips freely without having to verify their spacing. When generating a BOM, I'd like the single Device to be listed as two of these clips. And I also need the center for each clip for a pnp machine, rather than the center for the single device I created. Is there a way to automate this?

 

Basically, is there a way to create a Device consisting of multiple other Devices?

 

The clips I used are BK-92 clips linked below:

    I don't know of a way to automate what you want, but as you probably know, this can be done by creating a separate "reference design" board with just the battery clips on it, then copying the schematic and layout from the reference design to your target board. It is a bit tedious since you need to clean up net names to get the schematic and layout to be consistent.

    If you always start your new project with the reference design then there is no work to do - just save it with your new target name.
