locking something other then componets in eagle

Hi,

Is there a way to lock track or wires in eagle PCB ?

I have created a new layer and drawn lots of mechanical information. Think of it as a DXF import layer. Can I lock all the positions and information on this layer so that i cannot be selected or moved ?

When I come to use the move (and move group) command it moved component but also my accurately placed DXF.

If I switch this layer off completely it solves the problem, but since the layer is invisible I don't know where to place my components.

The Help command for lock mentions components only.

Any ideas please ???

    when introduced.

    OK, I can see why you'd want to do that.

    Well, when I had a board with specific mechanical constraints, I

    designed those constraints as a library part. It should be possible to

    do a package only, or you could associate a symbol that documents the

    installation that imposes those mechanical constraints. When you place

    that part, not only are all your DXF elements grouped into a single

    object, but that object is a component and can therefore be locked.

    Thanks for the suggestion- I may try it.

    This does however seem a very long winded way of doing things. The option of a lock feature would be a wonderful feature that I have come to use extensively in other packages.
