Consistency errors

maciv4
maciv4 over 9 years ago

I have 5 consistency errors, on sections of my board that I wired several days ago. One of the errors is on an airwire. Do I have to delete the entire net to find the offending trace. I also have missing airwires; parts with no airwires attached at one end. I also have airwires still in place after I have placed traces, that ratsnest won't clear. I assume that the consistency errors are preventing annotation between the schematic and the board. Can you help?

    Hi Jim,

Did you edit the schematic or board without the corresponding file open?

This is a guaranteed way to create consistency errors. The missing air

wires would probably be because the net was added in the schematic while

back annotation wasn't working so the board knows nothing about the net.

You've not really given enough information about what the errors actually

are for us to be able to help, can you post up what the actual messages are

    saying?

Basically what you'll need to do is back out any additions to the schematic

that happened while not in sync and make sure any property changes are in

sync across both the schematic and the board. Keep running ERC and working

through the list of differences until you see all the errors are cleared.

If you can supply more info then we can probably help more.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

I now have the following errors:

    Different connections on R48 pin 2 and pad 2 (-12V/$$1)   2
    Different connections on R84 pin 2 and pad 2 (-12V/$$1)   3

    Different connections on U15P pin V- and pad 4 (-12V/$$1)    2

    Different connections on U17P pin V- and pad 4 (-12V/$$1)    3

    Different connections on U20P pin V- and pad 4 (-12V/$$1)    3

Part R46 has different values in schematic and board (2.61k Ohms/2.61K)

Part R48 has different values in schematic and board (2.2k Ohms/2.2K)

Part R84 has different values in schematic and board (2.2k Ohms/2.2K)

    what should I try now?

So I don't think you've done it right. What the first 5 errors are saying

is that on the schematic the pins of those parts listed are connected  to

-12V whereas on the board they are not connected to that net. There may be

a different named net on those pads in the board, I can't tell. So you need

to totally remove the nets in the schematic that connect to those 5 pins.

In the board you need to go find the pads and make sure there are no nets

connecting to them either. If you do that these errors WILL go away. They

are still there because you still have mismatching things connected to

    the,

The new 3 errors is because you have added values in the schematic and in

the board separately and you have a difference in the case i.e. k vs K.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

In fact, you also have Ohms in one and not in the other. Both need to be

    EXACTLY the same.
