How to group objects then select them as a group

Hi, i want to know if i can group objects and give them some kind of indicator, name etc. then select them as a group easily with that indicator.

No, this is not supported in 7.x, but I think its a good idea. There
might be trolls tho, in which/how wires move with the objects.

No, this is not supported in 7.x, but I think its a good idea. There
