Change netname by wiring to copied Xref label

To make a connection between multiple pins for example without drawing a wired net, their netnames can be given the same name.  Once the first netname is assigned, each of the other names must be manually changed by editing the name.  It would be quicker and not require typing if the copy of a netname label as Xref could be directly wired to the other desired pins or connections.  Or just moved to the termination of an existing wire and the connection automatically made.  There probably should be a popup requesting confirmation of changing the netname, similar to what happens now if a netname if changed manually by typing and editing a new name.

Is this feasible or can it already be accomplished somehow?

Since a number of suggestions are appearing here (Not quite what the

suggest forum is for) here is another approach.

Enter in the command line, 'Net' and the name of the net you would like

all over the place. Let's call it CLK

NET CLK  and place an xref label directly.

Now you have two command preloaded in the command line so use multiple

up arrows to get the particular one you need.

The nets are named with the desired name as you place them rather than

going back and renaming them later.
