Selecting objects in dense areas (Eagle 8)

In previous versions of Eagle, when selecting objects with other objects close by, you would be prompted: "Select highlighted object? (left=yes, right=next, ESC=cancel)".

I'm no longer getting this even if the origin of the object is right over another origin.  Was this feature changed or disabled?  It is still described in the help docs.

    Hello Isaac,

In the latest versions of EAGLE this feature has been modified. Do

perform a cycle selection, hold down the alt key and left click to cycle

through the various nearby items. This assumes the group command is active.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

    Hi Jorge,

hm..., if i holding down the alt key and press left mouse button, there is no actions as you mentioned.

    the alt key not works?

if the group is active, an i klick though to the selected parts there comes on a rubber band and after an double klick

    the selected will be highlighted.

with alt key or without i get the same result.

hm.... the "clicking turn around" seem a little bit tricky. Or I misunderstood  something.

    Best Regards,

    Gerald

    Hi Gerald,

If you are used to the old way of working with EAGLE you can get it back

following the directions I gave Klaus.

For the new behavior try this hold the alt key and then left-click where

ever you have the multiple items overlapping (my assumption here is that

you are using the group command).

Just left click a whole bunch of times while holding down the Alt key

and you should see it cycle.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia
