Help with diameter of a manually entered component Eagle 8.2.2

I'm trying to create a library for a PC Screw Terminal (Digikey # 36-8196-ND) and I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. The mounting detail of the engineering drawing from the manufacturer lists .101 [2.57] dia. hole (6) PLS. I'm not sure what (6) PLS is or if I need to worry about it. When doing the package I left the diameter as auto and changed drill to 2.57mm. Is this correct? I think it's correct but I'm new to this and would like to double check. Thanks

Hi Brian, That's fine, what you did sounds correct. PLS just likely means places, i.e. repeat for all 6 hole places.

    Hi

The (6) PLS means 'six places'.

It is common for a drawing to specify one hole and tell you the total

number of times that hole appears in the object being drawn. The

draftsman needs to ensure it remains obvious which holes are included in

the count when there are different diameter holes.

The technique can be used for anything that repeats within the diagram

    (locally).

The pad diameter of 'Auto' is fine but what you will see on the board is

not what you will be seeing in the library. The size of the pad on the

board is controlled by your DRC settings so cheack the board to see if

it's satisfactory. For your terminal its likely the pads will be hidden

by a large fat track or polygon so it will not matter.

    Drill size is fine.

    HTH
