Auto-router stops after very few traces

Hello,

Not that I want to do layouts myself but I wanted to see what the

autorouter would do with a rather simple two-layer board. Well, after

running a few top-layer traces it just quit. No warning, nothing. It

didn't even touch the bottom layer. Just curious: Why does it stall

without any messages?

    Hi Joerg,

Sounds to me like the routing grid.  This is the grid that the router will

place traces on.  If it is larger than the pitch of parts you have then it

won't be able to even get to a pin on that package.  I usually set it to 1/2

of the trace spacing.  But if it gets too small it will make the routing

    take forever.
