how to fracture a component

astrayelmgod

I've been using EAGLE for some time, and it's gone OK up to now.

I have a 100 pin IC for a new project.  Normally I would just let it sprawl over an E size sheet, but this client prefers B size for everything. I need to fracture it into several pieces.   I have seen EAGLE schematics done by others that manage this, but I don't see anything either on line or in the help files.

Look at how the ttl parts are done.

You have to make multiple symbols each with the subset of pins that need

to be grouped. Then you assemble the footprint and symbols into the device.

    As Paul said.

You may care to have a look at the Atmel library included with Eagle.

The device AT91R4008 is probably the kind of device you will build.

When you ADD that device to a sheet, all the symbols are initially

placed together on the one sheet. Then you can move the symbols singly

    to another sheet.

Ah, OK.  Never thought of that.  Thanks.

We may have different Atmel libraries.  All the Atmel parts I looked at, including the ones with imposing names like "...mega..." were all one piece.  Paul's idea of TTL parts seems good enough.  Thanks for responding.
